A sneak peak into our Los Angeles Photoshoot
HELLO VENICE BEACH š
Sophia here - LFFās community manager, and I wanted to share my experience of attending our LA photoshoot last year. If youāre thinking about working towards a photoshoot as your goal - this is a must read for you!
This past August of 2023, the photoshoot took place in Venice Beach, which was so much more than we all expected! Going into the photoshoot, we were all scared and nervous. Nervous to meet 7 new people all at once; yet excited to share stories about our journeys, knowing we can all relate to the highs and lows of getting to this point.
The Day Before the Photoshoot
We first got settled into a beautiful multi-storied AirBnb home - our safe haven for the weekend. This part was so exciting since ALL of us were meeting in person for the first time!
One by one, people trickle in, and the energy in the home is unmatched to anything Iāve ever felt.
The thrill of meeting in person was so exciting; I honestly felt like a little kid meeting my classmates on the first day of school!
I vividly remember sitting around the table, all chatting, learning about each other, and noticing that although we may live on opposite ends of the U.S. and we all have different occupations, we all have similarities of loving workout clothes, how much rice cakes weāve been eating the past day, and how excited we are for THE photoshoot day tomorrow.
On that first day together, after settling in and unpacking, we had a quick gym sesh to get our muscles pumped for the following photoshoot day!
Walking to the gym and back, we walked on the Venice Beach boardwalk, soaking up some sunshine, getting to know each other some more, and literally enjoying the day š©·~
That night, we cooked a home cooked meal of roasted chicken breast, rice (a ton of it š), and veggies.
Photoshoot Day
I was the first to kick off the photoshoot~ It was totally surrealā¦I honestly felt like a superstar. Lucy and the photographers made me feel so comfortable, telling me to strike poses left and right. Once I got into the groove of things, I felt confident and carefree. My adrenaline was through the roof. It honestly felt like it went by so quickly.
With all the excitement radiating through the house, time flew by. We all cheered for each other during the photoshoot, we made each other laugh, we created a safe space for each other, and we were having a blast!
That Feelingā¦
I couldnāt contain my excitement that I literally had to jump on Lucy after it was over!
Weāve all put so much effort and hard work to get to this point. Weāve given it our all during our training sessions. Weāve pushed ourselves out of our boundaries and comfort zones. This photoshoot was a celebration for ourselves for the commitment and dedication weāve put day in and day out.
Afterwards
After an exciting photoshoot day, we celebrated with champagne and a delicious dinner. Safe to say, we enjoyed a couple of drinks that night, truly embraced living our dream lifestyle, and celebrating our incredible success!
Thinking Backā¦
Thinking back to that weekend, my only sadness was that it didnāt last longer. Whether it was getting to know each other on our coffee walks on the boardwalk, or pumping each other up during our photoshoot, we built such an incredible bond that weekend.
We went through an unforgettable experience together, and now we all say we canāt wait for the next photoshoot! Iām so grateful to have met Lucy in person (finally) and such a like-minded beautiful group of girls. However, we all couldnāt thank Lucy enough for organizing the event, bringing us all together for the most memorable weekend, for treating us out on our last dinner together, and for being the best coach š.
