So you want to get Toned?

I totally get it. You don’t want to get ‘muscular’ or look ‘bulky’ but you want to get ‘toned’ right?

Here’s the thing…

To get toned, you need to build muscle and get strong to create shape and definition. ⠀

Yes, eating low calories and exercising will help you to lose weight, but you won’t get that toned look you desire without the muscle growth underneath.

To achieve this, your first step will be to build lean muscle over time. This means following a structured training programme with progressive overload, combined with optimised nutrition. So, what does this look like? I’d recommend training 3-5 times per week and aim to improve each week - whether that’s improving your technique, increasing your reps or increasing the weight you’re lifting.

Once you’ve finished this phase, your second step would be to do a short term diet to see all of the hard work you’ve put in!

First things first, lets talk about the benefits of eating more…

  1. More energy

  2. Less cravings

  3. Increased libido

  4. Better performance in the gym⠀

  5. Improved recovery⠀

  6. Increased metabolic rate (this will make dieting easier later on) ⠀

  7. Better sleep ⠀

  8. More relaxed with food choices as you have more to play with ⠀

I know to a lot of people, eating more food can be overwhelming - this took me a while to get used to, but the lifestyle benefits you get from this are well worth it. This is why eating more food and training effectively can benefit you in so many more ways than you thought.

Trust the process. Keep it simple.
